LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford has provided an update regarding the status of multiple lawsuits against the Trump administration.

The address happened on Tuesday, Jan. 13, where AG Ford covered both the financial and non-financial wins regarding claims that the Trump administration has “practiced destructive overreach.”

The Attorney General said collectively Democratic Attorney Generals across states have filed a total of 71 lawsuits, 51 of which have been decided, and 40 of them have gone in their favor.

“I did not call this press conference to despair, my office working with partners and allies across the country, has been fighting back against these efforts by the Federal Government,” said AG Ford.

In Nevada, the AG’s office has filed 40 lawsuits since the beginning of Trump’s term. They say many of these remain ongoing cases.

AG Ford says he actively has members of his office and counterparts in court fighting to stop “Trump’s costly and unlawful tariffs,” which he believes have been raising costs on Nevada families and forcing small businesses to close.

For those who are curious about the cost of seeking these legal actions. AG Ford explained that the work conducted by his office has been approved by the legislature and signed by the Governor. He clarified that no additional fees besides court filings have been incurred.

According to AG Ford, about $19 million went to the Emergency Management Performance grant and the Homeland Security Grant Program run by state offices. AG Ford gave credit to his office for the success seen in protecting these funds for Nevadans.
