LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A bill that could lower egg prices across Nevada is moving forward in the state legislature.

AB 171 would give the state agriculture director the power to suspend the cage-free egg restriction during shortages caused by things such as bird flu.

It would keep prices lower by allowing wholesalers and retailers to sell regular eggs for periods up to 120 days.

Tuesday, the assembly voted to send the bill to the senate. It if passes there, it will go to governor Lombardo’s desk for his signature.
