LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – UNLV continues to shape young professionals including in the journalism and broadcasting field.
One group that’s helping the next generation of journalists was recognized at the university Thursday.
The Nevada Broadcasters Association and the Bonnici family had donor plaques unveiled at the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs.
Since 2010, the Tony and Linda Bonnici scholarship fund has helped students attend the Greenspun school, and jumpstart their careers.
“Everybody needs somebody and everybody has somebody who did something to help move their careers along some way or another. And that’s what we’re trying to do. We’re just trying to be a support team for all the kids going through it,” said donors Linda and Tony Bonnici.
The Nevada Broadcasters Foundation has awarded nearly 300 scholarships to college and university students here in Nevada.
