RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar’s Office released its fourth quarterly report on investigations into reports on election violations and complaints Friday.
“Ensuring the security of Nevada’s elections is one of the most serious responsibilities my office has, and we work tirelessly to maintain the high standards our voters deserve,” Aguilar said. “I’m proud of the investments the Secretary of State’s Office has made into protecting every level of the voting process, and steps we’ve taken to ensure Nevada’s voters can continue to be confident in the integrity of our elections. I’m also proud of our ongoing efforts in transparency and accountability, like releasing these reports, to keep voters informed throughout the entire election cycle.”
In the 2024 general election, there were 303 attempted “double vote” complaints representing 0.02% of the 1,487,887 ballots cast. Five were closed and 298 cases remain open.
In the 2024 primary election, there were 68 potential attempted “double vote” complaints representing 0.02% of the 383,340 ballots cast. Nine were referred for investigation, three were classified as civil notice and closed, eight were referred for prosecution, and 48 closed with no recommendation for criminal charges.
In the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary, there were two potential attempted “double vote” complaints representing 0.001% of the 215,742 ballots cast. Both investigations were closed with no criminal or civil charges filed.
