LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Ready to do away with daylight saving time?
A Nevada State Assembly member hopes the bill she introduced could make its way into law.
Assemblywoman Selena La Rue Hatch fully expects A.B. 81 will get approval from both the state assembly and senate before the end of this legislation period.
“It’s a public health issue. When they change the clocks there is an increase in heart attacks, strokes, car accidents and even anxiety,” according to La Rue Hatch.
She told FOX5 it’s a bipartisan issue and both Republicans and Democrats seem to be on board.
“This is a bill that will have an immediate positive health impact for our community, improve quality of life and it’s a bill that doesn’t cost a single dollar to implement,” she added.
La Rue Hatch expects the bill to go to a second work session in the assembly and then go for a vote.
If approved A.B. 81 will have to undergo another round with the state senate.
If it clears that hurdle it then gets sent to Governor Lombardo’s office.
