LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – With Election Day just under a month away, the Nevada Secretary of State announced some services to make voting more accessible for all Nevadans.
Monday, the office announced dial-direct interpreter services. This is available in more than 200 languages.
Voters at polling places or at home have a way to get questions answered.
The state’s website for voters is also accessible in eight languages.
“Access to the ballot box expands beyond Early Voting and Election Day. All Nevada voters deserve to have the same opportunity to understand and engage in the electoral process, and that means ensuring that important election information is available in the languages our voters are most comfortable reading and speaking,” said Secretary Aguilar. “Nevada runs some of the most safe and secure, and most accessible, elections in the country, and my office is dedicated to pushing that accessibility even further.”
Video interpretive services in American sign language are also available at some polling locations this year.
Election Day is Nov. 5. Early voting runs Oct. 19 through Nov. 1.
Same day voter registrations is available on Election Day at early voting sites. Registered voters have the option to vote by mail unless opted out.
Those ballots must be postmarked on or before Nov. 5 and received by Nov. 9 to be counted.
