LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nevada Air National Guard Base was placed on lockdown for nearly two hours after someone crashed into the gate.
According to base officials just before 1 p.m. a civilian driving a sedan crashed into the main gate.
The driver was quickly apprehended.
“Our defenders reacted quickly and appropriately to the incident,” Col. Catherine Grush, 152nd Airlift Wing Commander, said, “It is due to their professionalism that there were no further issues.”
The base reported a lockdown was put into place as a precaution and was lifted an hour ago.
The FBI and Reno law enforcement are investigating the incident.
