LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada National Guard will deploy about 190 soldiers to assist with security during New Year’s Eve celebrations on the Las Vegas Strip and downtown Las Vegas.
The soldiers will be stationed at major intersections Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 31, 2025, through Jan. 1, 2026, to help with crowd control, triage support and safety operations. Most guardsmen will work alongside Las Vegas Metro Police units during the celebration.
The Nevada National Guard has supported New Year’s Eve security in Las Vegas for more than 25 years. Nevada Division of Emergency Management officials said there is no specific threat to any event or site in southern Nevada.
Clark County Emergency Management heads the cooperative mission, with support from the Nevada National Guard and local and federal law enforcement agencies. The agencies have conducted various cooperative missions and training exercises since the Y2K preparations in 1999.
