LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -On Sunday, President Joe Biden added another stunning twist to an already incredible 2024 Presidential race.
“We want to wish him well and his family. We’re praying for him. But this is no surprise. Anybody who saw the debate saw that President Biden was in decline,” said Nevada Republican Party Chair Michael McDonald.
McDonald says it doesn’t matter who Democrats put up against former President Donald Trump in the election.
“It doesn’t matter who they put in the ring. You cannot run from the record with the Democrats; how they demolished this country in four years. All of us are suffering more. You can see the security on the border is terrible. It’s an issue that we have to fight, policy against policy. President Trump can stand on his record. The Democrats have to stand on theirs,” said McDonald.
The Nevada State Democratic Party Chair, Daniele Monroe-Moreno, released a statement that touts the achievements of President Biden for things like the Inflation Reduction Act and infrastructure law that she says created thousands of jobs for Nevadans. She also touted Vice President Kamala Harris.
“President Biden is absolutely right that Kamala Harris has been a phenomenal choice to serve as his Vice President. Her commitment to expanding health care coverage for thousands of Nevadans, lowering costs, and keeping our communities safe has helped grow Nevada’s economy, create good-paying union jobs, and protect our fundamental rights,” said Monroe-Moreno.
Nevada democratic voter outreach group Battle Born Progress thanked President Biden and said it wants a candidate that aligns with its values.
“For instance, any candidate that would not support abortion access or not support health care access or not support public education is not someone who really aligns with our values,” said Amber Falgout with Battle Born Progress.
