LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar says Nevada is a state “where every vote counts.”
The office is encouraging eligible voters to update their voter registration and signatures.
VOTE.NV.gov has a lot of voting information, including viewing and updating existing registration information as well as registration information for new voters.
People can also confirm their signatures on file by clicking on the “Update My Existing Voter Registration” tab.
“Nevada law requires election officials to use your signature to confirm your identity when voting (NRS 293.269927 and NRS 293.285). Having an updated signature will make it easier to process your mail ballot or check you in at a polling place,” said the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office.
Clark County officials say the signature on VOTE.NV.gov will be from the DMV.
People can also update their address and change their party affiliation when they click into the “Update My Existing Voter Registration” tab.
The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office lists several important dates as voting nears.
- Early voting runs from Oct. 19 through Nov. 1.
- Election day is on Nov. 5.
- Same day voter registration: Voters can register to vote and update their voter registration anytime online at VOTE.NV.gov or in-person during early voting or on election day at a polling location.
- Oct. 22 is the last day to update your registration or register to vote and be mailed a ballot.
- Mail ballots: All active registered voters will be sent a mail ballot unless they have opted out. Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before election day on November 5 and received by the county election official no later than November 9 to be counted.
