LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A new bill from Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen would allow extreme heat conditions to qualify for a major disaster declaration.

It’s called the “Extreme Heat Emergency Act.” It would group together under the Stafford Act.

It recognizes fires and natural catastrophes like hurricanes as eligible. These types of declarations mostly come from the president and could allow for federal resources.
