LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A new bridge opened in central Las Vegas on Wednesday, with state and local officials celebrating improved connectivity and homeownership opportunities.
Gov. Joe Lombardo and Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom cut the ribbon on the Richard H. Plaster Bridge, which connects Twain Avenue across the Flamingo Wash into the new Paradise Trails community.

The bridge links 29 new single-family, two-story homes to nearby neighborhoods, improving access and overall connectivity.
Paradise Trails is the first housing development to receive money from the Nevada Housing Access and Attainability Act. AB 540 passed last year to help low and moderate-income families buy a home.
“People that work around this community, those people can afford now to buy a brand-new home and not have to travel 20 miles to live in it,” Segerblom said.
The community was awarded more than $800,000 in down payment assistance through the Nevada Attainable Housing Account. That is on top of builder-backed rate buydowns and closing cost help.
Starting as soon as April 1, Nevadans making less than 150% of the area median income can apply that assistance to buy one of these homes.
