LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – New Clark County School District superintendent Jhone Ebert said she would send a personal message to students, parents and staff during her first week in the role.

On Monday, the former State of Nevada education department leader started her new gig as superintendent of one of the largest school districts in the country.

In the message, Ebert discusses her journey from her first day as a math teacher at Von Tobel Middle School here in the valley to now running the whole district.

She promised to rebuild the trust and confidence in the district, which may have been wavering, especially over the last few years.

“Your voices matter, and I look forward to learning how we can get better at getting better to support our children’s education,” Ebert said in a video attached to the letter.

Ebert said several times during this open letter that she wants to work with families to make sure kids are getting the best education.
