LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A new multi-agency traffic enforcement task force has conducted more than 2,700 traffic stops and issued more than 3,000 citations since its launch in December.
The Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force includes officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Nevada State Police, North Las Vegas Police, Henderson Police, the Boulder City Police Department, along with CCSD Police. The task force is a separate effort from the existing Joining Forces campaigns.
More than 1,900 of the citations were issued for speeding, which Metro says is among the top factors in traffic deaths in 2025. Officers have also towed 24 vehicles and made 20 arrests so far.
The task force’s stated goal is to reduce death and destruction on area roads through prevention efforts aimed at slowing drivers down and stopping dangerous behavior before lives are lost.
Participating agencies say additional enforcement events are planned.
