LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man facing over 70 felony charges in connection with a New Year’s Eve Las Vegas Strip shooting appeared in Clark County Justice Court on Wednesday.
Detectives learned that Jon Letzkus, 45, had checked into the MGM Signature with a dog on December 30, 2023. The suspect reportedly fired over 70 shots there just before 6 a.m. on December 31, 2023.
MGM surveillance located a man matching his appearance in a pizzeria. Officers moved in and Letzkus was arrested without incident.
The suspect’s bail was set at $500,000.
During his January 17 hearing, Judge Melissa Saragosa granted a motion for Letzkus to be evaluated for competency. She also conditionally bound the case over to Clark County District Court.
His first appearance in that court is scheduled for February 8.
