LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A semi-truck carrying four vehicles caught fire on I-15 near Primm Thursday morning and could be seen burning for almost an hour.
According to the Clark County Fire Department, two engines were immediately dispatched after receiving reports of the fire around 5:24 a.m. and were en route 90 seconds after the call.
CCFD tells FOX5 that the engines sent to the scene were from a Southern Highlands station and a Warm Springs station, respectively. Both of which are at least 30 miles away from Primm.
Nevada State Police confirmed that the driver was uninjured in the fire, and was able to detach from the trailer before it was engulfed by flames.
Due to the distance, crews were only able to arrive on the scene around 5:55 a.m., locate the carrier, which was still burning, and extinguish it.
Crews are still on the scene and will be clearing the scene shortly, officials tell FOX5.
