LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man was arrested in North Las Vegas Wednesday night after he shot and injured a man using a wheelchair.

According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Yale Street around 9 p.m. Arriving officers located a 50-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound in the area.

Police say the victim has life-threatening injuries and is receiving treatment at UMC.

The suspect, described as a 45-year-old “transient” Black man, fled before police arrived. Police determined that the suspect fled the shooting and encountered a second person in the 200 block of Judson Street. The suspect attempted to fire at the person but missed and fled again.

Officers would eventually catch the suspect, and arrest him on two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm as a convicted person.
