NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – North Las Vegas police said a 29-year-old man killed his girlfriend Sunday morning.
Police say they responded to an apartment complex near Pecos Road and Centennial Parkway at 10:15 a.m. Dispatch received reports of a woman dead inside a nearby apartment in the 100 block of East Centennial Parkway.
When officers arrived, police discovered a woman with critical injuries at an apartment complex in the 100 block of East Rome Boulevard.
When medical arrived they pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
NLVPD detectives took over the investigation and arrested 29-year-old Markeem Benson. He was booked into the North Las Vegas community Correctional Center on the charges of open murder with a deadly weapon and ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
The identification of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
