LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Police departments across the Las Vegas Valley concluded targeted speeding enforcement campaigns that resulted in hundreds of citations as part of Nevada’s statewide Joining Forces initiative.

The North Las Vegas Police Department conducted 377 traffic enforcement contacts, resulting in 304 citations, one DUI assist and two arrests. Henderson Police stopped 522 motorists during their enforcement period from Jan. 13 through Jan. 31. Citations were issued for speeding, seat belt violations, pedestrian violations, driver violations involving pedestrians, distracted driving, unsafe lane changes, intersection violations and other dangerous moving violations.

Henderson police cite 390 drivers for speeding

Of the 522 traffic stops completed by Henderson Police, 390 drivers were cited for speeding, nine were cited for distracted driving, 25 cited for intersection violations and 56 citations were issued for other traffic-related offenses.

The Henderson Police Department received $174,500 in grant money for enhanced enforcement through the Nevada Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety for the 2026 Joining Forces program.

North Las Vegas officers dedicate overtime hours to enforcement

North Las Vegas officers dedicated 163 overtime hours and 23.5 regular duty hours to proactive enforcement efforts focused on reducing speeding and improving roadway safety throughout the city.

During the same period, the North Las Vegas department’s Traffic Division completed 170 crash investigations with eight traffic officers while simultaneously training three new traffic officers.

Speeding remains a leading contributing factor in traffic-related deaths, according to police departments.

The Joining Forces campaign is supported by grants from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety and is part of Nevada’s Zero Fatalities initiative, an ongoing statewide effort to eliminate traffic-related deaths on Nevada roadways.
