LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A North Las Vegas police officer shares his recovery journey after a life-threatening aneurysm.
Officer Phillip Schmidt was rushed to MountainView Hospital last summer. Due to the severity of his condition, he was transferred to Sunrise Hospital for advanced treatment.
After nearly two month of intensive care, he left rehab.
Doctors say while full recovery takes about a year, Schmidt’s progress after six months has been promising. His wife says he is recovering well despite some lingering effects.
She says she’s grateful for the car he received.
Sunrise Health credits the successful treatment to the collaboration between valley hospitals, responders and medical teams.
