MINDEN, Nev. (KOLO) – A new report from the National Transportation Safety Board is shining new light on a plane crash in Minden that killed one person back in August.

The NTSB report says that on Aug. 20, at around 8:19 a.m., an experimental amateur built Lockwood Air Cam N2412Y was heavily damaged when it was involved in an accident at the Minden-Tahoe Airport.

The pilot was killed, and the passenger was seriously injured.

Airport staff told the NTSB they saw a plane taking off from runway 34, and that several seconds later, saw the plane level off before the right wing dropped for a moment. The plane then leveled off before it went nose down. It then leveled again off for a few seconds before the right wing dropped and the plane descended into the ground.

An examination of the crash site revealed the plane came to a rest inverted on the right edge of runway 34 about 3,900 feet from the approach end of the runway.
