LAS VEGAS (FOX5) —Nye County Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant in Las Vegas as part of their investigation into a motorcyclist who has eluded law enforcement in several high-speed chases over the past year, but no arrests have been made.
The rider has repeatedly escaped from deputies by speeding away when spotted, prompting law enforcement to call off many chases due to public safety concerns. The sheriff said the motorcyclist has run red lights at 70 mph with cross traffic present.

Search warrant yields contact but no arrest
Deputies executed the search warrant in Las Vegas a few days after a recent FOX5 news report about the case. Sheriff Joe McGill says they contacted a person who had been claiming on social media to be the driver.
“When we talked to him, he said that he was just trying to take credit for it, that it wasn’t really him,” the sheriff said.
However, investigators remain uncertain about the person’s involvement.
“He fit the physical description and everything, so we’re looking at it,” the sheriff said.
No motorcycle was found during the search, and the investigation continues.
Social media taunts and ongoing investigation
After the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook asking for help finding the motorcyclist, someone claiming to be the rider posted on social media saying, “You can’t catch me.”
The sheriff described the suspect as “very brazen” and said the office received many tips from the public, with some callers providing specific names.
According to the sheriff, since FOX5 news coverage aired, there have been no reports of the motorcyclist in the area.
“Well, I think it’s probably because he knows that we’re looking for him and we’re actively searching for him,” the sheriff said.
The sheriff’s office continues to ask for tips from the public. Anyone with information can call Nye County dispatch. Dispatch can be reached at 775-751-7000 by pressing option number five. Callers can remain anonymous.
