LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Henderson police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting a water park last month.

On Tuesday, HPD arrested 25-year-old Diamante Burton on the 6000 block of Boulder Highway around 5:13 p.m., with assistance from an FBI Criminal Apprehension Team. He is facing charges of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm, and assault charges related to a shooting a Cowabunga Bay Water Park in Henderson on May 30.

The shooting left one person injured after a large fight broke out.

Police had previously responded to a fight in the area and asked subjects to disperse. Another fight would break out later, which led to the shooting.

One person was detained the time, and a possible suspect was identified but remained outstanding at the time. It is unclear is Burton was detained or identified immediately after.

This also comes after an employee was hospitalized earlier that day after being exposed to pool chemicals prior to the park’s opening. The park had reopened shortly after.

Police say they believe the incident is isolated, but an investigation is ongoing.
