LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – One person is dead and two others are severely injured after a North Las Vegas crash early Sunday morning.

According to North Las Vegas police, a woman was also arrested on DUI charges after the crash on North 5th Street and Tropical Parkway around 2:48 a.m.

An initial investigation revealed a black Jeep Cherokee and a gray Chrysler 200 were involved. Witnesses told investigators that the Chrysler was attempting to turn left from Tropical Parkway onto 5th Street when the Jeep ran a red light and struck the Chrysler.

The rear two passengers of the Chrysler, a man and woman, were ejected from the car and later located by officers on the road. The woman was confirmed dead at the scene, while the man sustained critical injuries. The driver and front passenger of the Chrysler were also injured and taken to UMC.

After learning that the driver of the Jeep fled the area, the 30-year-old woman, identified as Bria Standley, was located and arrested at a nearby park.

Investigators determined that the Chrysler was traveling west on Tropical Parkway and was turning left onto southbound 5th Street on a green arrow. At the same time, the Jeep was traveling east on Tropical Parkway and ran a red light, striking the Chrysler.

NLVPD determined that speed and impairment were factors in the crash.
