LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An Oregon man died on US 93 last Thursday, Nevada State Police says.

The crash happened overnight around 2:26 a.m. at mile marker 29. Police say this is about 149 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

Police identified him as Arthur Eugene Pehrson, 21 of La Grande, Oregon. He drove a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Police said he was driving northbound when he traveled right and into a paved shoulder and struck a guard rail.

The crash caused him to overturn and hit an embankment on the left side of the roadway. He was ejected from the Dodge.

Police say he died at the scene.

“The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit,” police said. “2024 Year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 51 fatal crashes resulting in 59 fatalities.”

2024 fatalities data is preliminary and may change/be updated based on final investigation and coroner reports.
