LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A community is in mourning after a shootout leaves a North Las Vegas Police Officer dead.

The officer’s brothers and sisters in blue escorted his body from UMC to the Coroner’s Office in a procession Tuesday night.

The mood was somber, but the outpouring of support is what really stood out.

Like during the procession, where dozens of police officers from multiple departments led the way for the fallen officer to be moved from UMC, to the Coroner’s Office around the corner. Both Metro and Henderson Police, as well as CCSD Police, the Nevada State Police and the Clark County Office of public safety in attendance.

FOX5 also saw dozens of officers standing outside of the UMC trauma doors, hugging and reflecting on their fallen brother from the North Las Vegas Police Department. FOX5 did try and speak with several officers, but none were talking at this difficult time.

This is the first North Las Vegas Police Department officer-involved shooting of 2025.
