LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Henderson police and fire departments responded to a deadly shooting early Friday morning.

The Henderson Police Department said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Taylor Street. This is near Boulder Highway and Lake Mead.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages. It was a party that ended in gunfire. A 24-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds.

He died at an area hospital.

Police identified the suspect as 24-year-old Damarea Ethridge. He was taken into custody and was booked into the Henderson Detention Center for the following charges:

  • 10 counts of Discharge gun withing structure/vehicle within prohibit area
  • 10 counts of Discharge gun/other weapon where persons might be endangered
  • 1 count of Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon

This is the first homicide for the City of Henderson this year.

“The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin,” Henderson officials say. “As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.”
