LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A special gathering in Downtown Las Vegas is helping support two organizations dedicated to helping animals.

Paws for a Cause raised money for the Nevada SPCA and Paws Patrol Las Vegas. Both organizations help save the lives of pets every year.

Paws Patrol LV has also assisted in several high profile animal cruelty cases, including Reba the Bulldog and animal dumping near Frenchman Mountain.

The fundraiser was organized by Miss Nevada Earth 2025, who says animal rescue and advocacy is a cause close to her heart.

“If I could do this forever to help animals, I really would. It just means the world to me because I have animals at home and I could only think like I would want the best for them,” said Miia Leon, Miss Nevada Earth 2025, event organizer. “I think that it’s very important that we have more of the community helping because we have a big crisis of animals not being homed or in a shelter. Our shelters are overfilled, so I would like to have more help from the community so we can have another shelter, have more money into different shelters.”

The Nevada SPCA and Paws Patrol LV are always in need of donations, homes for animals, and volunteers.
