LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man is dead after being struck and killed by a car in the east valley Sunday night, police say.
The crash occurred around 5:51 p.m. on South Nellis Boulevard, south of East Sahara Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
An initial investigation into the crash found that the pedestrian was outside of a marked or implied crosswalk while crossing Nellis. The vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, was traveling south on Nellis, and struck the pedestrian when he entered the driver’s path.
Police say the driver came to a complete stop after the crash, remained at the scene, and did not display any signs of impairment.
Medical crews transported the man to Sunrise Hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
