LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead late Saturday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the collision happened at approximately 10:38 p.m. Saturday, March 28, on North Rancho Drive at West Washington Avenue.
Investigators said a white 2017 Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound on Rancho Drive and drove through the intersection at Washington Avenue when it hit a pedestrian who was crossing Rancho Drive on the south side of the intersection.
Police said the driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. The vehicle was later located.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, but despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
