LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A New Mexico man is dead after a crash near the F1 overpass bridge on the Strip early Saturday morning.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the crash occurred around 12:44 a.m. on Flamingo Road, east of Koval Lane.

An initial investigation revealed that a 2019 Infiniti QX60 was traveling east on Flamingo Road, coming off the F1 overpass.

The pedestrian, identified as a 34-year-old man, was crossing Flamingo outside of a marked crosswalk. Police say the crash occurred when he entered the path of the Infiniti driver and was struck.

The man was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he later died.

The Infiniti driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

“The pedestrian’s death marks the 149th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
