LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A person has died after being hit by a train in downtown Las Vegas Friday evening.
Las Vegas police were called out around 3:42 p.m. when they received reports of a dead body, a Metro lieutenant said.
“An investigation showed that a person had been struck by a train and subsequently died from those injuries,” the lieutenant told FOX5.
As a result of the investigation, the train has caused traffic problems due to it being stopped. FOX5 crews captured delays and drivers turning around near Industrial Road and Wyoming Avenue.
“Union Pacific Railroad is the handling jurisdiction and will conduct any follow up related to that investigation,” the lieutenant added.
FOX5 has reached out to Union Pacific for additional details.
RTC is asking you find alternate routes to avoid any delays.
This is a developing story.
