LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Federal aviation authorities are investigating a flight out of North Las Vegas where a plane took off from the runway and its door flew off and landed on the ground.
The Federal Aviation Administration released the following statement:
“A single-engine Diamond DA40 landed safely at North Las Vegas Airport … on Thursday, March 7, after the pilot reported losing the left rear passenger door. Two people were on board. The FAA will investigate.”
No one was hurt in the incident. No word where the plane landed, but according to data from Flight Aware, the plane reached an altitude of around 3,000 feet, then landed back at the airport.
