LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County Zoning Commission approved the permits for a new development on the Las Vegas strip.
Elvis Presley and Las Vegas boulevards between Fontainebleau and the Las Vegas Convention Center will soon become the site of a new construction project.
It would include two towers, a residential and non-casino hotel, both 600 feet tall and 44 stories.
“We are looking at 425 multi-family units, 750 hotel units,” said a spokesperson for the project presenting to the commission.
The plans also include a 482-foot-tall amusement ride, a shopping center, parking garage, outdoor pool, and a theater with more than 3,300 seats.
However, developers explained that it will not be another sphere.
“Although all the renderings that you’ll see in the file look like it’s going to be a sphere, we’re not proposing it to be a sphere. We’re proposing it to be an entertainment venue,” shared the spokesperson.
Clarification was provided regarding the renderings shown, which showcased bridges from the new buildings to the Fontainebleau. Those are not included in the current proposal, but developers hope this could be a possible addition in the future.
Permits for the proposal passed unanimously in the County Zoning Commission last Wednesday.
“I would just say this is fantastic news for the north end of the Strip, so I’m very excited and look forward to working with you and the architects in the coming years,” said Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom.
FOX5 is still waiting to hear back from the developers for more details on the project and timeline for construction.
