LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 61-year-old man died two days after a crash near the Las Vegas Strip.
Police said the crash happened on Jan. 7 around 6:15 a.m. at Frank Sinatra Drive and Caesars Service Drive.
The driver of a Hyundai Tuscon, a 58-year-old man, was approaching a red traffic signal at Caesars Service Drive on a left-turn lane. At the same moment, a motorcyclist, 61, was approaching the same intersection northbound on a green traffic signal.
Police said a crash happened when the Tuscon driver ran the red light and entered the motorcyclist’s path.
The motorcyclist was transported to UMC for his injuries. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene, did not have any injuries and showed no signs of impairmen.
Police learned two days later that the motorcyclist died.
“The rider’s death marks the 4th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD jurisdiction for the year 2025,” police said. “This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
