LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police said a 64-year-old Pahrump man died in southwest Las Vegas Christmas Eve.

Police responded to Blue Diamond around 7:10 p.m. near mile marker 31. This is about 35 miles west of Las Vegas.

Investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Suburban drove northbound on Blue Diamond approaching MM 31. For reasons not known to police, the driver failed to maintain its lane and traveled left into the dirt rock center median.

The driver was ejected from the Chevy. He was identified by police as David Gregory Roberts. He died at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit.

2024 Year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 77 fatal crashes resulting in 86 fatalities.

2024 fatalities data is preliminary and may change/be updated based on final investigation and coroner reports.
