LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – After an 18-year-old was arrested for doing donuts on a field at Mission Hills Park in Henderson Monday night, police told FOX5 that park is a hotspot of illegal activity, particularly carried out by high schoolers.

Several high school-aged people at the park Tuesday night told FOX5 incidents like that happen most nights during the summer.

A Henderson Police Department arrest report has revealed the motivation behind a suspect’s vandalism of a city park by driving on the grass in his Tesla.

While FOX5 was reporting on Monday’s incident late Tuesday night at the park, several shots were fired in the middle of a crowd of dozens of high schoolers. No one was injured.

Henderson police say incidents like the park vandalism and shooting become more common once school is out for summer. They add that a curfew is in place for juveniles during the summer at Henderson parks, and that police will be adding extra patrols in those areas.

The damage done to the park Monday night is estimated to be between $250 and $5,000.
