LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police released more details into a fatal I-15 crash that shutdown lanes for seven hours.
The crash happened Tuesday at 11:04 a.m. at I-15 northbound at Russell Road.
Police said there were two commercial vehicles involved, a box and semi-truck.
The semi-truck traveled northbound in the middle lane of I-15. When the driver began to slow down, the box truck behind it did not slow down. The trailing unit of the semi was hit.
The driver of the box truck died at the scene. Police did not say if speed or impairment was involved.
The identity will be released by the Clark County coroner.
The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit. 2024 Year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 74 fatal crashes resulting in 82 fatalities.
