LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are showing how drone technology is helping locate and arrest suspects across the valley.
Video from a recent incident showed officers responding to a reported battery near Las Vegas Boulevard and Elvis Presley Boulevard on Saturday, February 28, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

As officers headed to the area, a drone was rapidly deployed and identified the suspect from above as he began to flee the scene.
Police said the suspect attempted to avoid identification by discarding his shirt, but the drone maintained visual contact and relayed his movements to officers on the ground.
Guided to the suspect’s location, officers were able to apprehend him quickly and safely.
