LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – There’s a heavy police presence at a Henderson mall Saturday, but police confirm there was not an active shooter situation.
Henderson Police confirmed Saturday afternoon that there was not an active shooting at the Galleria Mall, despite social media reports.
A FOX5 crew at the scene saw officers around the mall entrance at the Kohl’s store, but saw mall patrons walking in and out of the building.
HPD’s is early into their investigation. They said someone with loss prevention tried to apprehend a theft suspect.
Police said a fight would ensue. The suspect ran but was later caught at a nearby business.
The suspect and the loss prevention person were transported to hospitals for their injuries. The suspect is in custody.
“There is no outstanding threat to the community and the mall has resumed normal operations,” police said.
