LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released a photo of the suspect in a shooting on the Las Vegas Strip that left two dead on Sunday.
The new image shows the suspected shooter wearing the same attire that investigators believe he was wearing on the night of the deaths of Rodney and Tanisha Finley.
Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Manuel Ruiz, 41, of Las Vegas. Ruiz, who claimed the shooting was in self-defense, surrendered to Las Vegas police hours after the shooting.
The shooting stemmed from a feud between one of the victims and the alleged shooter, both of whom were content creators on YouTube, a friend of the Finleys said.
LVMPD officials are asking for assistance in finding video from the time before, after, and during the shooting.
“Investigators are specifically asking for anyone who may have video footage – either from cell phones, tablets, vehicle dashcams, or business security systems from the area and timeframe of the incident, to include before and after,” the LVMPD news release said.
Investigators ask anyone with video or information on the shooting to contact the LVMPD Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or via email at [email protected]. Additionally, those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or via the organization’s website.
Ruiz faces two counts of open murder for the Finleys’ deaths and remains in police custody without bail. Steve Wolfson, Clark County District Attorney, said that prosecutors are considering the death penalty.
