Police search for hit-and-run driver after deadly west Las Vegas crash

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in the west valley Sunday night.

In a news release, Las Vegas police say the crash occurred on Tropicana Avenue east of Conquistador Street near Hualapai Way around 10:15 p.m.

Video surveillance shows an unknown silver SUV traveling eastbound on Tropicana. At the same time, a female pedestrian was “possibly kneeling or lying on the roadway,” police said. An image of the vehicle was released to the public.

The silver vehicle then hits the woman in the roadway and proceeds eastbound. Police say the driver never stopped or returned to the crash location.

The woman was transported to UMC, where she was pronounced dead by medical staff. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s identity.
