LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metro police seek a man accused of shooting and killing someone near a music studio in Las Vegas.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Dec. 23 around 3 p.m. near the Nucleus Plaza Shopping Mall.
Officials report the 911 call line was left open. The dispatcher heard gunshots in the background followed by someone saying “I don’t have nothing to do with it.”
When officers arrived on scene they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, both were taken to the hospital.
One person identified by police as Samuel Wiley died.
Court documents reveal LVMPD detectives received an anonymous call who offered police information regarding Wiley’s death.
The tip received led police to identify the suspect as Maalik Wilborn.
Wilborn was involved with a recording studio near the area of the shooting, the report said.
The second victim confirmed Wilborn’s identity and told police as they were speaking to Wiley at the recording studio, Maalik came out of a room and fired his gun unprovoked.
Police report Wiley received a shot to his chest, the second victim attempted to leave the building but was also shot down by Wilborn.
Wilborn faces multiple charges including murder, attempted murder, and battery with a use of a deadly weapon.
