LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating after a babysitter allegedly stabbed a toddler several times early Wednesday morning, ultimately taking the child’s life.
Metro police say they received a 911 call from a father around 3:30 a.m. stating his baby had been stabbed by their babysitter and she had fled on foot.
When police arrived, they located the father and the daughter, who was suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The child was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
During a search of the area, police located the suspect. She was taken into custody.
Metro homicide lieutenant Robert Price said officers believe the babysitter may have been living at the residence, but it is unclear at this time if that is the case.
