LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A well-known Primm resort has sent a petition to Clark County after announcing a “shift” to 24/7 operations on social media.

According to documents obtained by FOX5, Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino seeks Clark County’s approval to close temporarily and open occasionally for events. A petition asks to close for a period of up to 24 months, with a possibility of two six-month extensions.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board approved the closure on July 10, the petition says.

Officials cite the need to close due to post-pandemic impacts and traffic at the state line only heavy mostly on the weekends. The petition says it’s “insufficient” top support three, full-time casinos, but hopes that a new airport and other businesses will revive the area.

“It is not feasible to keep all three full-time casino properties staffed, supported, and open to the public on a fulltime basis,” the petition says. “As a result, we are requesting your approval to close Buffalo Bill’s temporarily.”

Officials say Buffalo Bill’s intends to open periodically for concerts and special events about 8 to 10 times a year with notification to Clark County in advance.

County commissioners are expected to discuss the petition Tuesday.
