LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An I-15 shooting that left one valley father dead was the result of road rage, a new arrest warrant reveals.

On August 8, 30-year-old Darin Algee was killed in a shooting on southbound I-15 at Flamingo. Monday, Las Vegas Metro police announced the arrest of two suspects: 23-year-old Jasahn Lovette and 18-year-old Damarion Bell.

According to police, the surveillance footage captured by a FedEx truck also driving in the area showed the white Jeep Renegade drive past at a high speed, swerving between lanes before driving up to Algee’s Audi.

“The Audi then swerved to the right, then left, back to the right, then left, crashing into the center median wall,” the warrant reads.

An initial search of Algee’s vehicle recovered multiple bullets from inside the vehicle.

Nearly two weeks later, LVMPD’s Fusion Center was notified that a commercial license plate scanner had located the white Jeep. North Las Vegas police officers were able to retrieve the jeep from a parking lot in the 1000 block of East Carey Avenue.

Surveillance footage provided by an area resident showed the suspects parking the vehicle and “wiping it down with a towel” before leaving it behind. The vehicle, which police learned was stolen, was taken into custody and several possible pieces of evidence were recovered.

After reviewing DNA evidence retrieved from the Jeep and comparing surveillance footage of the suspects, police were able to identify Lovette and Bell as suspects.

Both Bell and Lovette were taken into custody on Friday, Oct. 18. In an arrest report, Metro police state that Lovette was arrested after stealing a vehicle and fleeing from police with a third, unrelated suspect.

Both suspects are due in court for a status check on Thursday, Oct. 24.
