LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An arrest report obtained by FOX5 is shedding light on what led to a deadly shooting at an east valley park earlier this month.

On Friday, Oct. 4, two teens were arrested on robbery and murder charges – one identified as 19-year-old Serge Kamga, and the other, an unidentified 16-year-old. As FOX5 previously reported, police said children were present at Lewis Family Park when the shooting occurred.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department initially received reports of gunshots at the park around 8:22 p.m. Arriving officers located the victim, Dominique Rattler, suffering from gunshot wounds and transported him to Sunrise Hospital, where he would later die.

At the scene, officers spoke to several witnesses who observed the shooting, one of which stated they were in the car with the victim beforehand.

According to the report, the witness recalled driving to the park with Rattler, who said he was going to deal drugs to “two kids.” When they arrived, the witness saw the two teens wearing dark-colored clothing and ski masks. Rattler reportedly pulled out a firearm and laid it in the car’s cupholder in response.

Rattler exited the vehicle and approached the teens, but the witness heard gunshots. They added that Rattler attempted to reach for the gun, but fell over before he could grab it.

The witness then observed two teens running away and attempting to shoot at her, before calling 911.

Police would also interview Rattler’s wife, who said she had tagged along with him to deal to the two suspects a week before the shooting.

When he had mentioned dealing to them again, she replied, “No high schooler has $1500″ and asked him not to go.

During an interview with police, the 16-year-old denied any involvement in the shooting while Kamga denied that the shooting was a robbery attempt. He added that he “felt his life was in danger” once he was Rattler had a gun, the report notes.

Kamga is due in court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 22, while the 16-year-old is due for a status check on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
