LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Welcome to the Jetsons age.
Las Vegas is home of a new robotics business that can deliver robots.
They could be used for everything: from delivering food in a restaurant, to washing floors to even being a friend to an Alzheimer’s or dementia patient.
“We help customers find the right robot solutions for them,” said Jacob Fisher General Manager of RobotLab.
He tells FOX5 that the robots are not meant to eliminate jobs, but rather to have them eliminate mundane tasks.
One of the robots Fisher had on display was Pepper a humanoid robot that has several different applications including the health field.
“Pepper helps Alzheimer’s and dementia patients by playing their favorite music, greeting them every day to even holding their hand for contact.”
According to Fisher, Pepper has had positive results with children as well.
“I worked with a company that did robots for children with autism. I actually saw a non-verbal child start talking within minutes of working with our robots.”
Fisher says the robots are for sale or lease. Leases start at $20 to $40 a month.
