LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A source close to the case confirmed Robert Telles will speak at his sentencing hearing Wednesday morning.

The former Clark County administrator convicted of killing Las Vegas investigative journalist Jeff German will learn how much time he’ll spend in prison for the crime.

The murder happened outside Jeff German’s home back in September of 2022.

Robert Telles was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury in late Aug. That same jury recommended Telles should spend life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years.

However, Judge Michelle Leavitt will determine if that will be the sentence or choose to add additional time due to an enhancement on the murder charge.

In this case, the enhancement would be because German was over the age of 60 at the time of the murder.

Traditionally, at hearings similar to these, the family of the victim speaks.

FOX5 will be in the courtroom for the hearing, and we’ll provide live coverage on air and online.
