LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Another fire broke out at Clark County Wetlands Park Wednesday night, and firefighters say it may have been human-caused once again.
In an update from Clark County Fire Department sent Thursday, CCFD said the brush fire burned approximately 2.1 acres before it was extinguished. The park in total is around 2,900 acres.
Firefighters remained at the park overnight to ensure no further flare-ups. Crews also visited in the morning to attend to any hot spots.
On April 1, a similar brush fire sparked and burned around 34 acres. CCFD determined that the fire was likely human-caused, but further details were unavailable.
FOX5 also spoke with a park volunteer who said the fire destroyed multiple wildlife habitats, leaving animals either displaced or dead.
